RALLY FOR JUSTICE IN THE TAR SANDS

Join us for a solidarity rally in Ottawa, hosted by Keepers of the Water and Environmental Defence, to support the Indigenous Nations impacted by the recent Imperial Oil toxic tailings disaster.

Imperial Oil, the Alberta Energy Regulator and Environment and Climate Change Canada will appear at the House of Commons ENVI committee on April 20th and 24th to testify about their handling of Imperial Oil’s toxic tailings leak.

Imperial Oil’s tailings ponds have been leaking toxic wastewater into the environment for over nine months - contaminating the lands and drinking water of downstream Indigenous communities, who were not informed until an additional 5.3 million litres spilled earlier this year.
